Phillies update: Cole Hamels squared off against Ricky Romero on June 16, allowing two runs on seven hits in six innings of the Phillies' 8-3 loss . . . .2B Chase Utley was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI in that game . . . Hamels is coming off one of his strongest outings of the season, an eight-inning effort against the Orioles in which he allowed two runs and struck out 10, yet was charged with the 2-1 loss . . . RF Jayson Werth has six home runs in eight career games against the Blue Jays.

Blue Jays update: Ricky Romero has been on fire in his last four starts, allowing just nine runs in 27 1/3 innings, including three runs in seven innings against the Phillies on June 16 . . . The 24-year-old rookie has struck out 26 and walked nine during that stretch . . . The Blue Jays swept the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park last week, part of a nine-game homestand in which the Phillies won just one game.
