Is the league doing the right thing here by trying to prevent binge drinking or is it penalizing people who like to have a burger and drink responsibly while enjoying a good, long tailgate?

Why doesn't the NFL just combine the two programs? They could make it so that if you saw someone "binge drinking" you could just slip off and send a secret text to security.

Interesting idea, Kate. Two Birds (fans), one stone.
I get what the league is trying to do here, but, honestly, I think it's overreacting. Part of the NFL experience is getting the grill and the cooler and setting up your mini-village in the parking lot with the rest of your kind many, many, many hours before the game. It's almost as much fun as the game itself. Three hours is barely enough time to unload your gear and then repack it.

The big thing the NFL has going for it (besides being the best of the sports) is the games are on everyone's off day. Thus, the NFL becomes an all-day event. Why mess with that?
How would I work my way from queso dip to spinach artichoke to three-layer Mexican if the NFL imposed some sort of sick ban on my time?
I'd have to cut out something, and that's just not how we (Americans) work.
