Giants RHP Tim Lincecum (13-4, 2.33) vs. Phillies RHP Pedro Martinez (2-0, 4.50).

Giants update: Lincecum is making a strong bid for his second straight Cy Young. He held the Phillies scoreless for eight innings in a 2-0 Giants win on Aug. 1 ... Lincecum is coming off a 2-0 win over the Giants last weekend in which he allowed four hits and struck out eight in eight scoreless innings ... Lincecum has thrown at least 120 pitches in three of his last four starts ... Lincecum has allowed more than three earned runs in a start just twice since May 21.

Phillies update: Martinez, who won the NL Cy Young in 1997 at 25, squares off against Lincecum, who won the same award last season at 24 ... Martinez has totaled just 16 innings in four starts, thanks to two rain-shortened outings, including two innings against the Braves last weekend in which he allowed one hit, walked one and struck out one before a long rain delay ... Martinez has picked up wins in both of his official starts, although the Phillies scored 21 runs combined in those games ... Shane Victorino is 4-for-15 with a home run off Tim Lincecum. Ryan Howard is 3-for-13 with two homers.
