Mets RHP Nelson Figueroa (2-4, 4.74) vs. Phillies LHP Cole Hamels (8-9, 4.32)

Mets update: Figueroa is making his sixth start of the season, his first against the Phillies. He has faced the Phillies twice in relief, pitching one scoreless inning on Aug. 22 and allowing two runs in 2 1/3 innings Aug. 23 ... Figueroa is 1-2 with a 3.00 ERA in three starts since returning to the rotation in late August ... Figueroa is coming off a 5-3 loss to the Cubs in which he allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out eight in six innings.

Phillies update: Hamels saw his career-best scoreless innings streak snapped at 21 last week when he allowed an RBI single to Lance Berkman in the third inning of the Phillies' 4-3 loss to the Astros ... Hamels allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings ... The Phillies are 2-5 in Hamels' last seven starts against the Mets. The last time he was credited with a victory against the Mets came on Aug. 14, 2006, at Citizens Bank Park ... Hamels last faced the Mets on Aug. 21 at Citi Field, allowing four runs on 10 hits in five innings of the Mets' 4-2 victory.
