Phillies update: Blanton has pitched well against the Marlins this season, allowing three runs on 13 hits in 13 2/3 innings of two starts. One of his best games of the season came against the Marlins at Citizens Bank Park on May 26, when he allowed five hits and struck out 11 in seven scoreless innings of a 5-3 Phillies win ... Blanton has struggled with his control in his last two outings, walking four in each. In fact, he has walked four batters in three of his last four starts. He has issued more than three walks only one other time this season ... Blanton pitched six scoreless innings last Wednesday, but was aided by some bad baserunning by Washington ... Moyer will start the nightcap of this old-fashioned twinbill. Moyer is 8-0 with a 1.37 ERA in eight career starts at Land Shark Stadium .... Jimmy Rollins (7-for-23), Ryan Howard (7-for-21, two HR) and Chase Utley (6-for-19) have all had success against Josh Johnson.

Marlins update: Johnson has excelled in two starts against the Phillies this season, pitching seven scoreless innings and striking out eight in a 7-3 loss on April 24 and allowing one run on four hits in six innings of a 12-3 win on Aug. 9 ... 1B Nick Johnson is 7-for-13 with a home run and four RBI off Joe Blanton. OF Cody Ross and SS Hanley Ramirez are a combined 6-for-15 off Blanton ... Despite Moyer's overall success against the Marlins, several players have hit well against him, including Ramirez (14-for-42, 4 HR, 6 RBI), INF Wes Helms (7-for-16, 2 HR, 6 RBI), C Ronny Paulino (6-for-15) and 3B Jorge Cantu (9-for-29, 4 RBI) ... Sanchez hasn't faced the Phillies this season. He has a 3.25 ERA in his last seven starts, but has pitched a total of just 33 1/3 innings in them.
