Dougherty has her dad to thank as he submitted her name and plans to do something nice for the "big guy." It marked was the first Playoff Payoff homer since Greg Luzinski hit one that made Upper Merion resident John Capinski a winner back on Oct. 10, 1976.
"People have been calling me but it was my 14-year-old son [Sean] who told me I won first," Dougherty said. "It's great because he's [Werth] is his favorite player so he was all excited."
Talk about a win-win.
