Is McNabb as clutch as Rollins?

Re: Clutch

I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting pelted by e-mails comparing the Eagles to the Phillies. The theme is this: One team is clutch, the other isn't. I'm sure you can guess which one is.

But is there merit to the comparison? Charlie Manuel said that Jimmy Rollins craves the spotlight, and the brighter the light, the bigger he responds. Does McNabb have the same characteristic? Or did the Eagles just happen to lose to a horrible team right when the Phillies are making another monster postseason run, and all will be forgiven in January?

Re: Clutch

All of Uncle Charlie's nutty moves seem to work when they count most (except maybe for pulling Pedro), while Andy's wild and crazy ideas - like wasting time-outs and taking forever to send in plays - always seem to backfire on Big Red. Go figure.

Re: Clutch

I just hate having to be the voice of reason. Jeff, weren't you the guy that had the Phillies going out in the first round because the bullpen was going to implode? How short are our memories? How many times have we seen the Eagles get off to a slow start and still finish strong? As long as they're healthy, Andy Reid's teams are always better in the second half. As for McNabb, he hasn't won the Big Game, but he's won a lot of big games, including one at Giants Stadium 10 months ago.

Re: Clutch

I am not Mr. Short-term Memory! And by the way, didn't I predict the Eagles would still make the playoffs yesterday? Oh, and by the way, didn't I predict the Eagles would still make the playoffs yesterday?
