Iowa's loss has ripple effect as TCU moves up to fourth in BCS polls

At least America doesn't have to worry about Iowa any more. So what else do you really need to know about the BCS standings?

Well, Alabama and Texas flip-flopped again. Coming off a home win over Louisiana State, 'Bama moved back up to second, one spot ahead of the Longhorns, who only beat Central Florida at home as expected by a bunch. Doesn't matter, if the Horns keep winning, because Florida and Alabama both can't finish unbeaten. As long as Texas stays third, which seems like a safe bet, it will be OK.

For whatever it's worth, Texas is second in both the Harris (media) and USA Today (coaches) polls, but only fifth in computer average.

Behind your Big Trio, Texas Christian moved up from sixth to fourth, followed by Cincinnati, which remained fifth, and Boise State, which moved up one place because of Iowa's loss. The Hawkeyes fell from fourth to 10th.

While it's not likely that TCU could end up in the BCS title game, it does mean that the Frogs do have the inside track over Boise for an automatic bid to one of the other four BCS bowls.

Which, for the TCUs of the food chain, is still a huge deal. Ask Hawaii.
