An intelligent 9-year-old with boundless energy, Alexander is curious about everything. He likes to sit and read with an adult and to talk about everything he has learned. A talented artist, he delights in drawing pictures and giving them away as presents. Other favorite pastimes include playing outdoors, constructing things with Lego blocks, and testing his skills at video games. Alexander thrives on attention from adults and loves to be praised for a job well done.
In school, Alexander benefits from a small class size and is proud of being an A student. He's been diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy, but the only signs he shows of this are weak ankles and sometimes an unsteady gait. Therapy is helping him deal with emotional and behavioral challenges resulting from the many separations and losses he has experienced.
