Butler tied two more records. The Bulldogs have now won six tourney titles, tying Xavier for the most in league history, and win No. 28 in conference tourney play matched Detroit's record.
The Raiders (20-12) were led by N'Gai Evans with 13 points, but lost for the third time this season and seventh in a row to Butler. But they did avoid a record for worst loss in a championship game by making two free throws with 3.8 seconds left. Xavier beat Detroit by 26 points in the 1988 title game.

* Sun Belt: At Hot Springs, Ark., Josh White's shot from near the free throw line with 22 seconds remaining gave North Texas a 66-63 win over Troy in the championship game.
The Mean Green (24-8) has won 11 straight and snapped a seven-game winning streak for top-seeded Troy.
* Summit: At Sioux Falls, S.D., Derick Nelson scored a career-high 36 points and Oakland, Mich., defeated IUPUI, 76-64, in the championship game.
The Grizzlies (26-8) earned their second NCAA berth with their school-record 11th consecutive win. Their only other NCAA appearance was in 2005.
* Big Sky: At Ogden Utah, Anthony Johnson scored 19 points as Montana (21-9) beat Northern Colorado, 68-63, in the semifinals.
* Mid-Eastern Athletic: At Winston-Salem, N.C., C.J. Reed had 23 points and five assists and Bethune-Cookman (17-15) defeated Florida A & M, 64-53, in the first round . . . North Carolina A&T (11-21) beat Howard, 65-55.
In women's league tournaments:
* Big East: At Hartford, Conn., Kalana Greene scored 15 points to help top-ranked Connecticut (33-0) rout No. 9 West Virginia, 60-32, for its 72nd straight win and 16th Big East Tournament championship.
* Sun Belt: At Hot Springs, Ark., Alysha Clark scored 48 points, including the winning layup with 1.8 seconds left in overtime, to lead Middle Tennessee (25-5), 70-68, over Arkansas-Little Rock in the title game, earning its 13th NCAA bid.
