You Talkin' to Me? 76ers: To tank or not to tank?

The Sixers got crushed by the Bobcats the other night. Tonight, the Cleveland Cavs and LeBron come to town. Call me crazy, but I don't like the home team's chances.

Do the Sixers owe it to the fans and themselves to play hard and try to win as the season winds down or would you rather see them play the young guys and essentially tank in order to get a higher draft pick?

You never want to ask a team to tank games. It's bad for morale. So, what you do is tank the roster, so the team can't win even if it tries. Believe it or not, that isn't what the Sixers have done. In fact, the coach is coaching for his job, and the GM needs signs of life for his, too. I don't expect the team to try to lose.

We had this discussion at this point last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and, I think, the year before that. When is there going to be a viable NBA team in this city again? It's depressing. Ed Snider and Peter Luukko owe it to the fans to put together a competitive, well-coached, entertaining team that the people can get behind. They haven't done that in years. It's embarrassing. They've been through, what, six coaches since Larry Brown resigned in 2003?

I don't care what happens from here on out this season. This organization needs a major overhaul, and it needs to start at the top.

Not being a fan either way, I really don't care what they do. For their sake, I would think they would prefer a higher draft pick but not at the cost of their jobs.
