He's interested in police work

Posted: April 05, 2010

Aaron, 15, loves to help others and is thinking of becoming a police officer when he grows up as a way of serving his community. In the meantime, he has applied to enter a junior police academy so he can learn what police officers do.

Friendly and eager to please, Aaron relates well to adults and his peers. He enjoys listening to music, riding his bike, skateboarding, going to movies, and spending time with his friends. In the eighth grade, he benefits from special education services and a small class size. He likes attending school and is a good student. His report card is filled with A's and B's. He is a member of the school's soccer and basketball teams.

Therapy is helping Aaron deal with trauma resulting from the many separations and losses he has experienced. He is excited about the idea of having a permanent family. The ideal family for him would provide structure and set limits while showing him unconditional love and support. He is close to his grandmother and it is important that the contact be maintained. He is eligible for financial subsidy.

Aaron and other children are available for adoption by approved applicants. For a free information packet contact the National Adoption Center, 1500 Walnut St., Suite 701, Philadelphia 19102. Call 215-735-9988, or visit the Web site at www.adopt.org.
