Three-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt will run in the Penn Relays.

Bolt will participate in the 4 x 100-meter relay as part of the USA vs. the World event on Saturday, April 24, USA Track and Field announced yesterday.

Bolt won gold medals and set world records in the 100, 200 and 4 x 100 relay for Jamaica at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

"We are thrilled that Usain Bolt will be running at the Penn Relays," director Dave Johnson said in a statement. "He ran here 4 years in a row as a teenager, and this will be his first time back since he became the sport's biggest star."

Bolt won the 100 and 200 at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin in August. He broke his own world records in the 100 (9.58 seconds) and 200 (19.19).

He became the first man to hold the Olympic and world titles in those events at the same time.

The USA vs. the World series is the first event in USA Track and Field's 2010 Outdoor Visa Championship Series and is in its 10th year of competition. *
