The addition of 40 table games at the SugarHouse Casino will generate 306 jobs and $5.1 million in tax revenue for the city and state, according to testimony from Wendy Hamilton, general manager of the casino, before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday.

At the public hearing at Philadelphia Community College, Hamilton said the casino, under construction on Delaware Avenue on a 22-acre site in Fishtown and Northern Liberties, is 55 percent complete and should open by mid-September. SugarHouse wants to add blackjack, craps, roulette, mini-baccarat, and three types of poker.
