Stuck truck disrupts Route 15 trolley service

Posted: June 18, 2010

A tractor-trailer got lodged under an overpass in Port Richmond Thursday night, disrupting trolley service because of downed wires, authorities said.

The accident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at Richmond and Somerset Streets, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

Shuttle buses replaced Route 15 trolley service between Cumberland and Westmoreland Streets, SEPTA spokesman Gary Fairfax said. SEPTA hoped to have the trolley running before morning rush, he said. - Robert Moran
