Vick first among worst

ANDY REID HAS GOTTA love this:

For the second year in a row, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been named the most disliked player in sports in a poll commissioned by Forbes.

According to data from E-Poll Market Research, 69 percent of 1,100 people polled nationwide (ages 13-and-up), selected Vick as someone they "dislike a lot," "dislike," or "dislike some."

Vick topped the top 10 list, ahead of oddball Raiders owner Al Davis (66 percent), Steelers quarterback/carouser Ben Roethlisberger (57), golfer/cheating husband Tiger Woods (53) and maverick Cowboys owner Jerry Jones (53).

The sports figures were limited to players, coaches, managers, broadcasters, agents and owners who are currently active in sports.

Story continues below.

"The general public largely still knows [Vick] for the dogfighting," E-Poll CEO Gerry Philpott told Forbes. "If you were to limit the responses to just NFL fans, Vick's number would probably skew lower."

Vick, of course, spent 23 months in federal prison for his role in a dogfighting ring.

Rounding out the top 10 were former major leaguer and current Cardinals hitting coach Mark McGwire, loudmouth wide receiver Terrell Owens, Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, former Sixers guard Allen Iverson, who played last season, and gun-toting NBA star Gilbert Arenas.

Before you ask, Kobe Bryant was not on the list, although he was fifth (behind Owens) last year.

Team going to great le-lengths

The Lake County (Ohio) Captains, the Indians' Class A affiliate, will do their part to try to convince Cavaliers star LeBron James to stay in Cleveland.

On July 1, the team will hold a "Please Stay LeBron!" night. The team will change its name to the LeLake LeCounty LeCaptains and its players will add the prefix "Le" before their first names for the game. The team will also price some tickets at just $6 in honor of James' new jersey number.
