Phillies-Blue Jays preview

4:05, Citizens Bank Park. TV: Comcast SportsNet. Radio: WPHT (1210-AM); WUBA (1480-AM) Spanish.

Today's pitchers

Blue Jays RHP Shaun Marcum (6-3, 3.24) vs. Phillies LHP Cole Hamels (6-5, 3.75)

Who's hot

Cole Hamels: Throw out an absurd, rain-aborted start in Atlanta on June 1 and the lefty is 5-3 with a 2.46 ERA and 48 strikeouts in eight starts, seven of which lasted at least into the seventh inning.

Who's not

Lyle Overbay: The Blue Jays first baseman led off the third inning last night with a weak hit but entered the series in an 0-for-13 slide and was hitting .188 vs. lefties.

Three matchups to watch

Jayson Werth vs. Brett Cecil: Werth is hitting .333 against lefthanded pitching this season. Against both lefties and righties he's 17-for-44 in his last 14 games, including last night. And Cecil feasts on lefties; against righties, he's more ordinary.

Hamels vs. spring training: Hamels faced the Blue Jays twice in spring training, so each should be pretty familiar with the other.

Charlie Manuel vs. injustice: Manuel was ejected Tuesday and Thursday, the third and fourth ejections of the season for the fiery former redhead.

Upcoming probables

Tomorrow at Blue Jays: Phillies LHP Jamie Moyer (8-6, 4.43) vs. Blue Jays LHP Brett Cecil (7-4, 4.06)

Monday at Reds: Phillies RHP Kyle Kendrick (4-2, 4.71) vs. Reds RHP Johnny Cueto (7-2, 3.97)

Tuesday at Reds: Phillies RHP Joe Blanton (3-5, 6.53) vs. Reds RHP Mike Leake (5-1, 2.92)
