A woman sitting on a porch in the Lower Northeast was shot in the leg after a gunman in a van opened fire on another vehicle Sunday evening, police said.
The woman, 18, was in the 4800 block of Levick Street in Tacony about 7:30 p.m. when a bullet struck her calf and came out just below her knee, said Sgt. Joseph Green of Northeast Detectives.
At least five shots were fired as both vehicles fled. The van was later found empty in the 7300 block of Torresdale Avenue, but three men were taken into custody when they returned to the vehicle a short time later, Green said.
