A man was in critical condition Saturday night after he allegedly pulled a gun and was shot by Philadelphia police.
Police say they saw the man walking north in the 4900 block of Griscom Street, in Frankford, about 7:30 p.m. He appeared to put a gun in his waistband. When patrol officers approached, he started running and, when he reached a vacant lot, pulled his gun, police said.
Three officers shot. The man, whom police have not identified, was hit once in the back, collapsed, and was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Hospital. Police said they recovered a 9-millimeter semiautomatic Baretta handgun. - Joe Tanfani
