On the Boards

Philadelphia Futures, a nonprofit organization committed to helping Philadelphia public high school students attend college, has elected Kevin R. Boyle and Stephen Lis to its board. Boyle is a partner at Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young L.L.P., Philadelphia, where he is chairman of the firm's Business Department and serves on its board of directors. Lis is a partner at KPMG L.L.P., Philadelphia.

The Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation, an independent organization partnered with the Hatboro-Horsham School District, has named the following to its board:

Jim Knopf is a senior customer service representative at TD Bank N.A. in Plymouth Meeting.

Jennifer Partelow is co-owner of AB 8 Waste Solutions, Doylestown.

Kelley Winters is a member of the Hatboro-Horsham school board and is its liaison to the foundation.

The Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board, a volunteer commission appointed by the mayor to govern the public workforce system in the city, said Mayor Nutter had appointed the following to its board:

Albert P. Black Jr. is chief operating officer of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Annabelle Canning is vice president, tax policy at Verizon, Philadelphia.

Lynn McKee is executive vice president of human resources at Aramark Corp., Philadelphia.

The Free Library of Philadelphia has appointed Nicholas Torres to its board of trustees. Torres, president of Congreso de Latinos Unidos, will become president and chief executive officer of the Philadelphia Schools Partnership in August.

Historic Philadelphia Inc., whose programs include the Betsy Ross House, Once Upon A Nation storytelling, Adventure Tours, Franklin Square, and the Lights of Liberty Show, has named Tracy Carter Dougherty and Jeffrey Kenneth Kohn to its board. Carter Dougherty is the director of community relations for Lockheed Martin Corp.'s Information Systems and Global Services. Kohn is a retired psychiatrist who has worked in the antiques business since 1969 and is recognized as one of the top experts in the country concerning the American flag.
