A minivan crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in which a 5-year-old boy was killed is being reviewed to determine if criminal charges are appropriate, Chester County Assistant District Attorney Ann Marie Wheatcraft said Tuesday.
Police said Cynthia Eure, 20, of Philadelphia, was traveling west Monday in a white, 2000 Chrysler minivan when a rear tire blew out and she lost control of the vehicle, which flipped.
The child, one of 10 occupants in the car, including six children, was not secured in a child seat and was ejected, state police said. According to police, only an 8-month-old was buckled into a car seat; the other children were not using car seats or seat belts and only one of the adults wore a seat belt. Several passengers sustained moderate injuries. - Kathleen Brady Shea
