Thursday night's Season 2 premiere of the hit reality show opens with thoughtful reflections from cast members on the Season 1 experience of sharing a summer house in Seaside Heights, N.J.
"Lots of drama," recalls Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. "That's what happens down at the shore." Especially if you don't mind the 911 operators groaning whenever they hear your address.
"We pretty much became a family, and we loved one another," muses pneumatic Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. What else was there to do but reunite? "So, we're going to Miami."
Yahooo!
But the world isn't quite as idyllic as Snooki, innocent child, sees it.
As the "family" gets set to gather under the palms, Sweetheart can't stop talking about how much she still cares for Ronnie. And Ronnie can't stop talking about how much he likes being single, sounding a lot like a man who's trying to convince himself.
All of which sets the stage for an early fight with Sweetheart and an orgiastic Ronnie romp, featuring extraordinary feats of dexterity, during the group's very first foray into Miami's nightlife.
Then there's Angelina, the self-styled Kim Kardashian of Staten Island, who was booted off the show by her housemates midway through Season 1. She reveals that she's been on the phone with The Situation and Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio and says they've as much as invited her to Miami.
"They don't know I'm coming. It's going to be a very big surprise."
Oh, yeah.
Angelina's all about redemption. Her redemption, anyway.
"I'm really happy I get a second shot, because I feel like in the world everybody deserves a second shot," she says. "Now, I get to show everybody the real Angelina."
Well, enough contrition. Know what's wrong with those other girls? They're jealous.
Take Angelina's surprise appearance, mix in a little lingering animosity, especially from Snooki and the intimidating Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and presto - catfight in a cab.
Did I mention that it doesn't get any better than this?
