POP . . . plus

Cyndi Lauper: We've seen her as an earnest rocker, New Wave popster (her most successful incarnation), a Broadway musical "heavy" and a frothy queen of the dance floor. Now she's reinvented herself as a down-home blues mama, testifying "I'm Just Your Fool" and trying to get back to "Mother Earth" on her latest long player, "Memphis Blues." Lots of stars (Allen Toussaint, Ann Peebles, Jonny Lang, B.B. King, Charlie Musselwhite) made the recording date, though Lauper's holding her own for the live rendering. Keswick Theatre, Easton Road and Keswick Avenue, Glenside, 8 tonight, $39.50-$49.50, 215- 572-7650, keswicktheatre.com.

John Mayer: While embraced mostly for those lightly tossed off, musically breezy confessions, Mayer's also a darned good blues guitarist, making for a stage show with more variety and edge than you might expect. Pop-rock faves Train arrive at the station first. Susquehanna Bank Center, 1 Harbour Blvd., Camden, 7:30 tonight, $75, $36, $24.75 (4 pack lawn, indiv.), 800-745-3000, livenation.com.

The Black Keys: There's just two of them - vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney - yet the blues-rockin' Keys still cover the waterfront. With the Morning Benders. River Stage at Great Plaza, Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street, 7:30 tonight, $35, 800-745-3000, livenation.com.

Carnival of Madness: Headliner Shinedown isn't all that freaky, nor is Chevelle. But the show-sharing Puddle of Mudd, Sevendust and 10 Years might get you slam dancing insanely on the pier. Festival Pier, Columbus Boulevard at Spring Garden Street, 5 tonight, $39.50, $42.50, $29.65, 800-745-3000, www.livenation.com.

Celtic Woman: It takes four lovely Irish talents (plus backing band and choir) to make a Celtic Woman. 'Tis a haunting, genteel and ultra-polished take on Auld (and occasionally new) Sod music that's won the hearts (and donations) of many a PBS pledge drive viewer and otherwise reluctant concertgoer. Mann Center for the Performing Arts, 52d Street and Parkside Avenue, 8 p.m. tomorrow, $30-$70, 215-893-1999, manncenter.org.
