Minor Leagues: Cusick HR lifts Thunder past Phils

READING - Matthew Cusick led off the ninth inning with a home run to give the Trenton Thunder a 5-4 win over the Reading Phillies in the Eastern League on Wednesday.

Austin Krum made a diving catch to end the game with the potential tying and winning runs on. Kevin Whelan pitched around two walks in the ninth and stuck out one to get the win.

Reading's Cody Overbeck had slugged a three-run homer in the seventh. Freddy Galvis followed with an RBI double later in the inning to tie the game at 4-4.

Trenton's Dan Brewer threw out a runner at the plate to end the eighth and preserve the tie.

Greenville 3, Lakewood 2

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Michael Almanzar led off the bottom of the 11th with a game-winning homer as the Grasshoppers edged the BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League.

Camden 11, Long Island 9

Garrett Guzman hit a walk-off, two-run homer in the bottom of the 13th to lead the Riversharks past the Ducks in an Atlantic League game at Campbell's Field.
