  • Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi tweeted her thanks to Sen. John McCain (see "Leaders who bad girls 2").

There are powerful men, men who run the country, who adore some of the baddest of celebdom's bad girls.

And, no, that's not what we mean.

New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who at 86 is the oldest member of that most august body, has declared himself a devotee of Lady Gaga.

The Washington Post reports that the Democrat will hold a fund-raiser in a private suite at Her Ladyship's Sept. 7 gig at the Verizon Center in Washington.

Lautenberg isn't just pandering to younger supporters: The senator celebrated his birthday in January by taking his wife, Bonnie S. Englebardt, to a Gaga show in New York.

Want to groove with the senator? The party costs $2,500 a person for political action committees and $2,400 for individuals.

Meanwhile, that other distinguished New Jerseyite, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, is deepening her friendship with Arizona Sen. John McCain.

The Republican on Wednesday defended one of Snooki's more outrageous, narcissistic comments. Snooki, who was arrested July 30 on disorderly-conduct charges, has been mocked for saying she's too hot to be put behind bars. McCain, 73, agrees. "I kind of think she might be too good-looking to go to jail," he told Phoenix radio station KMLE.

The Snookster is pleased: "Thanks for having my back!" she tweeted Thursday. "I'm going to make you part of my family. Grandpa Snooki for President!"

DiLo: I'll take care of LiLo

She may be an ex-con, but Lindsay Lohan still has her mom's support.

Dina Lohan on Friday told Today's Matt Lauer that LiLo, who served 14 days in a Los Angeles-area jail, will move back East once she's out of rehab. "She's great," DiLo said of LiLo's state of mind. "She's been through a lot."

DiLo had no kind words for California Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel, who put her girl behind bars.

"The judge played hardball. Lindsay was in with alleged murderers and she's become friends with a lot of them." (Is it bad she was around them, or that she befriended them?)
