The arrest comes about two weeks after fellow cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was arrested on the Seaside Heights beach after other beachgoers reported she was bothering them.
'Tillman' doc docked
With all the raunchy, tasteless movies available to children thanks to PG-13 ratings, it seems odd that the MPAA has held firm on "The Tillman Story," about football player-turned-soldier Pat Tillman and his family's battle to bring out the true story of his death by "friendly fire" in Afghanistan.
Despite protests by its producer, director and distributor that the documentary should be available to young people, the Hollywood Reporter says the film has lost an appeal to have its R rating changed to PG-13.
The rating makes it unlikely the film will be made available to schools and libraries.
Ironically, the R isn't even due to the violence of war, it's for "language."
"I do not understand this decision," distributor Harvey Weinstein said in a statement. "These ratings need to not only be based on content but also context. This film needs to be viewed as a historical document that can serve as a learning tool in schools across the country."
Dutoit passes baton
After 21 summer seasons and 182 programs, Charles Dutoit's tenure as music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra's summer season at the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center ended more explosively than the post-concert fireworks. Daily News arts writer Tom Di Nardo reports that Dutoit's emotional farewell Thursday night featured a gripping "La Mer" by Debussy and a white-hot "Pines of Rome" by Respighi, eliciting a final thunderous ovation.
The director of the chamber music festival for 20 seasons, Chantal Juillet, also soloed brilliantly in Korngold's achingly romantic "Violin Concerto." Sparks flew between conductor and soloist, who married this year.
Marcia White offered the title of emeritus conductor to Dutoit onstage, conditional upon his consent to lead two guest performances next summer.
