RE ALL THE rappers/poets doing PSAs about picking up litter in Philadelphia:
Picking it up is just a temporary solution. To really address the problem, we need to somehow change the mentality of the idiots who indiscriminately throw their trash and garbage down wherever they feel like.
I've seen adults walking with little kids, giving the kids junk food, then throwing the wrappings and garbage right on the street or sidewalk, sometimes with a trash can in plain view. How's that for parenting skills?
