Sport Shorts: Flyers sign four; 'GameDay' at Villanova

The Flyers signed four players to American Hockey League contracts - goaltender Nicola Riopel and defensemen Logan Stephenson, J.P. Testwuide and Jesse Dudas.

Riopel, 21, was a fifth-round pick in 2009 and was 4-6 with a 3.35 goals-against average in 11 games for the Adirondack Phantoms last season.

Stephenson, 24, enters his fifth professional season and second with the Phantoms. Last season, he appeared in 62 games, posting a goal and seven assists with 140 penalty minutes.

Testwuide, 25, comes from the AHL's Houston Aeros, where he registered two goals, six assists and 111 penalty minutes over 58 games during his rookie season in 2009-10. He is the older brother of forward Mike Testwuide, who signed a contract with the Flyers in March.

Dudas, 22, had five goals and seven assists in 24 games for Bloomington, of the International Hockey League, and Corpus Christi, of the Central Hockey League.

The Phantoms will play a regular season game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Wells Fargo Center Jan. 21. Tickets for children 12-years-old and younger are $10. Individual tickets at $14, $18, and $19 will go on sale Sept. 17 and can be purchased exclusively through ComcastTIX on line at ComcastTIX.com, by phone by calling 1-800-298-4200 or in person at the Wells Fargo Center box office.

'College GameDay' at Villanova

ESPN is bringing "College GameDay" to Villanova for the Feb. 12 game against Pittsburgh.

The network will air a 2-hour show from 10 a.m.-noon from the Pavilion (this year, the program's first hour is to be broadcast on ESPNU, the second hour on ESPN). Then, at 8 p.m., ESPN will again be live at the Pavilion for 60 minutes ahead of the 9 p.m. tipoff.

The complete Villanova schedule will be announced in September.
