Sexual assault in Chinatown
A 24-year-old woman was being treated after being sexually assaulted in Chinatown last night, police said. The attack occurred at 8th and Race streets near Police Headquarters shortly after 9 p.m. She was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. Police reported no arrests.
2 sought in armed robbery
Police are looking for two armed robbers who held up a grocery store at 29th and Master streets, North Philadelphia shortly before 7 last night. An undetermined amount of cash was taken. Police reported no injuries.
Bullet kills driver in N. Phila.
Jonathan Wilson, 26, was shot and killed while driving his car in North Philadelphia early Saturday.
Wilson was driving on 26th Street near Sterner in his tan Ford sedan shortly after 4 a.m. when a bullet struck him in the back of the head. His car struck a parked vehicle and a utility pole before stopping, police said.
Wilson, of Dicks Avenue near 64th Street, in Southwest Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 4:42 a.m. It was not known if he was the intended target of the shooting.
Man hurt in N. Phila. shooting
Officers responding to gunshots in North Philadelphia shortly before 1 a.m. yesterday found a 23-year-old man with bullet wounds to his stomach and buttocks. The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was in critical condition following surgery, police said.
Tour bus cuts off man's foot
A tour bus severed a man's foot in Center City Saturday morning in what police said "appears to be just a bad accident."
The 45-year-old pedestrian was crossing Broad Street near Vine about 8:30 a.m. when the bus ran over and severed his right foot. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in critical condition. Police did not disclose the owner of the bus.
Collision kills 2 in SW Phila.
Two men were killed yesterday morning in a car crash in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.
One man, 54, whose identity was not released, was driving a black Chevy Impala at a high rate of speed on 61st Street near Passyunk Avenue when he swerved into oncoming traffic and his car struck a blue Chevy Tracker driven by a 38-year-old man, whose identity also was not released.
Both men were dead at the scene. There were no passengers in either car, police said. -Staff and wire reports
