More to disclose frack additives

Chief Oil & Gas L.L.C. became the latest operator in the Marcellus Shale to voluntarily disclose the additives it uses to hydraulically fracture natural gas wells. The Dallas company said it would disclose detailed information about the additives it uses in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Range Resources Corp. became the first driller to disclose the additives in July to ease concerns raised by environmentalists about the extraction process. - Andrew Maykuth

Kenexa buys human-resources firm

Pfizer to buy FoldRx

Pfizer Inc. said it would buy privately held FoldRx Pharmaceuticals Inc., Cambridge, Mass., for an undisclosed amount. FoldRx, with 30 employees, will be overseen by Pfizer's Collegeville-based Specialty Care Business Unit. FoldRx is developing potential treatments for diseases caused by protein misfolding, which is seen as an underlying cause in many chronic degenerative diseases. - AP

Test-maker will move to Oregon

QuantRx Biomedical Corp., a Doylestown maker of diagnostic tests, said it was "consolidating its operations" in Portland, Ore. The company's news release did not say how many local jobs would be lost, and two spokesmen listed on the release did not respond to requests for comment. The statement said all accounting and financial personnel would be required to move. Chief financial officer Sasha Afanassiev decided not to relocate and would be replaced, the company said.
