18 shots in Overbrook gun battle

September 02, 2010

Bullets hit a daycare center window, a rowhouse and three cars during an 18-shot gun battle Thursday afternoon in the city's Overbrook section, said Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives.

Despite the neighborhood turning into a combat zone, no one was injured, Walker said. The gunfire broke out about 3:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of Lebanon Avenue. Two males on one side of the street were firing at one male on the other side who was firing back.

There were 12 young children and two adults in the center. No arrests were reported.
