Candidate challenge withdrawn

Supporters of former U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan have withdrawn their court challenge to nominating signatures filed by independent candidate Jim Schneller in the 7th Congressional District, making for a three-way race with Democratic state Rep. Bryan Lentz. Lentz allies helped gather signatures for Schneller, a right-wing candidate who could siphon votes from Meehan, a Republican. The winner of the November election will replace Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak, who is running for Senate.
