Two missed extra points helped West Chester Henderson escape with a 13-12 win at Chester in a nonleague football game on Saturday.

Ryan Brewer scored on a pair of short runs for Henderson, whose Kyle Morton had the only successful conversion kick of the day.

Brewer's second touchdown, a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter, won it.

Maurice Nelson caught a 28-yard pass from Da'Ryn Harris in the first quarter and the Clippers took the lead again, 12-7, on an 82-yard kickoff return by Anthony Davis in the third quarter.

Quincy Rhoads, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound end, blocked Chester's first extra point, and wind blew the second Clippers attempt to the left.

Roman Catholic 23, West Catholic - At Wildwood, Roman scored on a recovered fumble in the end zone, a safety, a run and an interception.

Dennis Regan's 45-yard sprint with an interception near the end of the first half gave Roman Catholic a 21-0 lead before West Catholic scored a pair of second-half touchdowns.

Octorara 35, Fleetwood 19 - Junior quarterback Mitch King, subbing for injured Danny Solomon, became the unlikely hero for the Braves, rushing 17 times for 176 yards for two touchdowns behind center Matt Harper and guard Chris Kretchmer.

Solomon left the game in the first half with a hamstring injury. King helped out and so did running back Charles Cooper, who added a pair of scores.

The Braves, in their second year of varsity football and the first in the Ches-Mont League, finished with 369 yards on the ground on 46 carries.

Octorara broke open the game in the second half, after leading, 14-7, after one quarter and 14-12 at halftime.

Blake Shivery also scored a touchdown for the Braves, whose Jack Wisniewski hit all five of his extra-point attempts.

Cardinal O'Hara 20, Archbishop Ryan 0 - The Lions blanked the Raiders in Ocean City for the second year in a row. The game was closer this year than last. O'Hara prevailed, 56-0, a year ago.

Furness 25, Neumann-Goretti 23 - Quarterback Maurice Harris scored on a 15-yard run with three seconds left to give the visiting Falcons a win in their first-ever game against their South Philadelphia neighbors.
