Host Sun Valley rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit to take the consolation game of the Vanguard Invitational, 3-2, over Oxford. Adam Dunkin tied the game and Tommy Thompson scored the winner from Austin Tasker's assist with 15 minutes left.
Coatesville Tournament. Kyle Phillips scored with 14 seconds left in the second overtime to give Ephrata a 2-1 win over host Coatesville.
Nonleague. Jimmy McLaughlin completed his hat trick with a header in overtime to give Great Valley a 3-2 win at Owen J. Roberts.
McLaughlin also scored in the first and the second half, on a 25-yard shot and a shorter left-footed shot to the far post.
Daniel Brady and Noah Greenblatt scored scored second-half goals for the Wildcats to force the overtime.
Conestoga opened with a 5-2 win over visiting Christopher Dock as brothers Michael and Andrew Gonzalez notched two goals each.
Sasha Safavi scored twice to give Lower Merion enough offense for a 2-0 win over visiting West Chester Henderson. Safavi broke a scoreless tie 10 minutes into the second half. Aces goalie Emmett McConnell turned back six shots and also assisted on a goal.
Joe Monzo scored off a Ted Poatsy assist in the 24th minute to give Hill School a 1-0 win at George School.
Girls' Soccer
Taylor Quinn found the upper corner of the net on a second-half free kick, boosting Radnor to the championship of the West Chester Henderson Tournament with a 1-0 win over the host Warriors. Goalie Kristina Link posted her second straight shutout.
Bishop Shanahan Tournament. Colleen Dougherty had a goal and two assists as one of nine West Chester Rustin players with a goal apiece in a 9-0 win over Marple Newtown.
Rustin goalies Ashley Rundell and Ann Marie Rock combined for two saves.
Nonleague. Moira Petrie's second goal of the game came on a breakaway in the 15th minute of the second half as Lower Merion edged host Perkiomen Valley, 2-1.
Boys' Water Polo
At Episcopal Academy, Inter-Ac teams won 11 of the 15 games over two days to take the Philmore Cup for the first time in the third edition of the city rivalry between Philadelphia and Baltimore.
Malvern Prep, with Will Grant scoring 10 goals in two games on Saturday, took a 13-5 win over Mount St. Joseph (Md.), and a 14-4 win over McDonogh School (Md.).
Germantown Academy also recorded a pair of wins over those same schools.
