Offensive line at a glance

September 06, 2010

Here is the Eagles' offensive line at a glance:

C Jamaal Jackson, 6-4, 325, Delaware State, 7th year

The line's anchor is trying to return to competition less than nine months after tearing an ACL. When healthy, he is a stabilizing presence. But can he return to top form so quickly?

T Jason Peters, 6-4, 340, Arkansas, 7th year

A Pro Bowler in 2009, he can be a force when focused but a penalty machine when he's not.

T Winston Justice, 6-6, 320, Southern Cal, 5th year

He's solid but sometimes is pushed around on the line.

G Todd Herremans, 6-6, 321, Saginaw Valley State, 6th year

He's one of the team's best linemen, but his left foot injury was enough of a concern to keep him out most of training camp. What will 16 weeks of regular season competition do to it?

C-G Nick Cole, 6-0, 350, New Mexico State, 5th year

He struggled at center, but Andy Reid likes how he plays at guard. Cole is taking over at right guard after the Stacy Andrews trade.

G-C Mike McGlynn, 6-4, 315, Pittsburgh, 3d year

Looking for the first significant action of his career, McGlynn would likely play center if Jackson isn't ready. He has also practiced at guard.

G Max Jean-Gilles, 6-3, 358, Georgia, 5th year

He got plenty of first team reptitions at guard while others healed. While he didn't fail, he didn't wow anyone, either.

T King Dunlap, 6-9, 330, Auburn, 3d year

The sizable tackle still appears to be a work in progress.

T Austin Howard, 6-7, 333, Northern Iowa, rookie

He is a potential find as an undrafted free agent. But he's still a rookie with no NFL experience and likely needs more time to develop.

Reggie Wells, 6-4, 314, Clario, 8th year

He was a starter for a prolific Cardinals offense since 2004 but lost his job in training camp and wash shipped to the Eagles. He'll provide depth and could challenge for a job at right guard but must acclimate to his new team.
