PSU moves up in AP poll

Penn State moved up one place to 18th in the Associated Press Top 25 college football poll released today.

The Nittany Lions, who defeated Youngstown State, 44-14, on Saturday, remained in 14th in the USA Today Top 25 poll. Penn State's opponent on Saturday, Alabama, remained a solid No. 1 choice in both polls. The top three are the same in both polls - Alabama, Ohio State and Boise State.

Temple picked up one vote in the USA Today poll, which is the coaches' poll. The Owls opened the season with a 31-24 victory over Villanova on Friday.

In the FCS poll released Monday, Villanova dropped out of the No. 1 spot. The Wildcats are ranked No. 2 behind Montana.
