Girl on bike hit by car in Montco

A 14-year-old girl sustained serious injuries when she was hit by a car while riding a bicycle Tuesday evening in Conshohocken, police said.

The accident occurred at 7:05 p.m. in the 300 block of West Sixth Avenue, said Conshohocken police Sgt. Michael Conner. The girl rode across the street in the middle of the block when she was struck by a Chevrolet Cobalt.

The girl was flown by helicopter to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Conner said. The driver did not leave the scene and was cooperative with police. Both the girl and the driver are from Conshohocken.
