Boy, 6, is bitten in face by family dog

A 6-year-old boy was bitten in the face by the family dog, possibly a pit bull, Tuesday afternoon in the Swampoodle section of North Philadelphia, police said.

The attack occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Judson Street inside the family's house, police said. The boy was listed in stable condition at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. The dog was taken by animal-control officers. - Robert Moran
