Thurs. Pa. boys’ and girls’ roundup: Nazareth goes OT for win

Paulina Ricci found the back of the net in the nick of time and handed Nazareth Academy a 2-1 double-overtime win over visiting Mount St. Joseph in a Catholic Academies girls' soccer game Thursday.

Ricci converted a cross from Maggie Borski with less than a minute left in the second overtime period. Rucci also assisted on a goal by Taylor Capecci. Pandas' goalie Liz McBride earned the win after stopping four shots.

Sophomore keeper Alli Fasano stopped 15 shots in her varsity debut and helped Gwynedd-Mercy beat host Merion Mercy, 3-1.

Taylor Caparo, Olivia Rosenberger and Morgan Sheridan each had a goal and an assist for the Monarchs.

Catholic. Kelsey O'Kane scored the lone goal of the game with 3 minutes left and handed Cardinal O'Hara a 1-0 win over visiting Archbishop Prendergast.

Danielle Wijtyk assisted on the goal and Michele Volk preserved the shutout with four saves.

In other league games:

Gina Luciano and Scarlett Walsh collected a goal and an assist each as Archbishop Ryan handled host Bishop McDevitt, 4-0.

Walsh assisted on a goal by Cailin Blaney to open the scoring in the first half. Michelle Saklad also scored for the Ragdolls.

Taylor Cobb scored a goal and assisted on another to lift Little Flower past visiting Hallahan, 3-1.

Ursula Coyle and Courtney Weidoer also scored for the Sentinels, who got a pair of saves from Erin Gallagher.

Genna Richards and Julia Schmitz collected goals to give Conwell-Egan a 2-0 win over visiting Neumann-Goretti.

Kristin Szczepanik and Bryn Wassel handled the scoring as Lansdale Catholic dumped host St. Hubert, 2-0.

Melissa Chapman assisted on both goals for the Crusaders, who got one save each from Jackie McCarron and Alyssa Messina.

Kelsey Celline came through with a hat trick for Archbishop Wood in a 12-0 win over host West Catholic.

Bicentennial. Carley Neal had a field day and led Delco Christian to a 9-0 win over host Girard College.

Neal victimized the Cavaliers for five goals and two assists.

Nonleague. Tara Balady, Sarah Kunko, Katy Buohl, and Tyisha White scored goals to help Octorara beat host Ridley, 4-1.

Madeline Russell and Amanda King combined for 11 saves for the Braves.

Hannah Steffenino scored on a penalty kick with 15 minutes left and gave Pottsgrove a 1-0 win over host Springfield (Delaware County).

Ali Neel earned the shutout in goal for the Falcons with a 15-save effort.
