Ryan Howard: The first baseman homered in his season-high third straight game last night, knocking his 29th off Mets righty Jenrry Mejia.

WHO'S NOT

Pelfrey: The Mets moved Pelfrey up a day to give lefty Jon Niese more rest. Pelfrey is coming off a 13-3 loss to the Nationals in which he allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Kendrick vs. Mets: In a 3-1 win on Aug. 15, he held them to one run in 6 2/3 innings. In a 9-1 loss on April 30, he allowed four runs in five innings.
