Looking to rekindle the excitement from last season's run to the Stanley Cup Final, the Flyers said Tuesday they will open training camp Friday at the Skate Zone in Voorhees with a series of fan events.

The Eastern Conference champions, holding rookie camp this week, will open practices to fans on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also on Saturday will be an ice cream party at noon and girls' ice-team tryouts at 1 p.m.

On Sunday, fans can watch a "Meet the Flyers" taping by ComcastSportsNet at 2 p.m.

The weekend will include face-painting, interactive games, and free rally towels.

Beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, the Flyers will unveil their new road jerseys and offer free public skating from 4 to 10 p.m. Skating (6 p.m.) and hockey (7 p.m.) lessons will also be offered Friday.
