Washington Township senior Taylor Foussadier, an Inquirer second-team all-South Jersey lacrosse defender, will attend the University of Pennsylvania.

Foussadier said the combination of the lacrosse program and academics led her to choose Penn.

"Penn has one of the top lacrosse programs in the country, and I also want to go into the medical field," Foussadier said. "I love the coach [Karin Corbett] and the team atmosphere."

Penn has won four consecutive Ivy League championships and has qualified for the NCAA final four three of the last four seasons.

Foussadier has been a starter at Washington Township since her freshman year. As a sophomore, she was a key member of the Minutemaids' South Jersey Group 4 title team.

In addition to Penn, other schools Foussadier said she considered were Cincinnati, John Hopkins, and Cornell.
