Perry whisks Elmo to secret sex den
Creepy, yet strangely titillating, idea, no?
Thankfully, that ugly scenario has been avoided. Sesame Street producers on Thursday said they won't air a video shot by bubblegum sensation Katy Perry, 25, for the PBS show's Sept. 27 season premiere. The vid, a parody of Katy's "Hot 'N Cold," features Sesame Street star Elmo, a sweet, innocent - and very fuzzy-wuzzy - red dude, wooing a scantily clad Katy as the pair sing, "How am I supposed to play with you? / You're up and you're down."
The vid, which has been posted on YouTube, inspired a tsunami of complaints from parents.
"In light of the feedback," producers say, "we have decided we will not air the segment on . . . Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers."
Perry's rep says, "Katy enjoyed working with Sesame Street [Elmo voice actor] Kevin Clash and playing dress-up with Elmo."
Yeah, but does she enjoy the dressing-down?
Fear not! Oprah - well, her voice - will be on that episode, in the parody, "The O Show."
