Bargains from the Poconos to Prague

Here are travel bargains around the globe, by land, sea, and air. Deals sell out quickly and are not guaranteed to be available. Restrictions such as day of travel, blackout dates and advance-purchase requirements may apply.

Land

Several hotels and resorts in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains are offering fall golf packages. For example, Fernwood Hotel & Resort, a 440-acre property with a championship golf course, has a midweek stay-and-play package for $144 per night that includes accommodations for two and two rounds of golf. More than two dozen hotels and resorts throughout Costa Rica are offering fall specials. Promotions include half-price and free-night offers, discounted cross-country packages, free breakfasts and discounted activities. For example, Hotel Arenal Vista Lodge (011-506-2231-4947, www.arenalvistalodge.com), near Arenal Volcano and Lake, is offering half off a second night. Rooms start at $82 per night double, including taxes, so a two-night stay costs $123. Travel by Nov. 30. The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in southwest Florida has discounted its fall rates. Rooms start at $119 per night Sunday-Thursday and $139 Friday and Saturday; normal rate is $235. Add $12 to $14 per night in taxes. Deal includes free parking and other perks. Guests who stay three nights receive a fourth night free. Stay through Dec. 23. The Appalachian Mountain Club, a nonprofit conservation and recreation organization, has a free-night deal at its northern New England lodges and White Mountain huts in New Hampshire. Stay three nights Sunday through Friday, through Christmas Day, and pay for two. Many of the facilities are full service through mid-October, with meals and naturalist programs included. Nightly full-service rates at the White Mountain huts, for example, are $88 for members, $97 for nonmembers; self-service rates (BYO grub) are $32 and $35, respectively.
