Guilt pleas in Bristol Alloys fraud case

Bristol Alloys Inc., Fairless Hills, and its president, James R. Bullick, agreed to plead guilty to one count of major fraud against the United States.

The defendants had supplied a Navy subcontractor with metal that did not conform to military specifications and provided counterfeit certified material test reports and counterfeit heat treatment certifications.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Philadelphia disclosed the pleas in a news release Tuesday. The metal supplied was used in building submarines.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 31. Bristol Alloys faces a maximum sentence of five years probation, a $5 million fine, mandatory restitution, and a $400 special assessment.

James Bullick faces a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment, three years of supervised release, a $5 million fine, mandatory restitution, and a $100 special assessment.    - Inquirer staff
