A garbage truck hit a crane on a construction supply truck at a Center City work site this morning, seriously injuring a 45-year-old man.

The man, who was knocked unconscious, was taken to Jefferson University Hospital as a trauma case following the accident, about 8:15 a.m., at 4th and Market Streets.

It is not yet known how the man was hurt or what his role was at the work site.

It appears that the top of the Gold Medal Disposal garbage truck hit the crane's extended boom, knocking a load of bricks to the ground.
