VANCOUVER - Actor Randy Quaid and his wife, arrested Thursday in Vancouver on a U.S. warrant related to vandalism, told Canada's immigration board yesterday that they are seeking refuge in Canada because they are being persecuted in the U.S.
The Quaids are wanted in Santa Barbara, Calif., where they missed a court hearing Monday on felony vandalism charges. A U.S. judge later issued arrest warrants The hearing was related to their arrests last month on suspicion of illegally squatting at a home.
