Dan Gross: A new Starr arrives

CONGRATULATIONS to restaurateur Stephen Starr and wife January Bartle, owner of the Third Street Habit (153 N. 3rd) boutique, on the birth of their son, Julian, last week. It's the first child for Bartle, 34; Starr, 56, has children from a previous marriage. Starr and Bartle were married last November at his Barclay Prime restaurant.

JWoww hosts Halloween bash

"Jersey Shore" hellcat Jenni "JWoww" Farley hosts a Halloween-costume contest party Saturday night at Dusk at Caesars Atlantic City. JWoww, who likes to wear nearly nothing when she goes to the club, will help judge the contest, which will feature cash prizes totaling $5,000.

A few nights earlier new Eagles running back Jerome Harrison had dinner at the steakhouse, as did Flyers Chris Pronger and Kimmo Timonen and Mayor Nutter . . . The group Phoenix brunched at the White Dog Cafe (3420 Sansom) Saturday afternoon before playing the Tower Theatre that night . . . Eagles Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy had pancakes over brunch Saturday at Darling's Diner in the Piazza at Schmidts, where former Mayor John Street has become a regular . . . Phillies legend Pete Rose caught yesterday's Philadelphia Film Festival screening of "4192: The Crowning of the Hit King," at the Prince Music Theater (1412 Chestnut). The film about Rose, the all-time MLB hit leader, features interviews with Rose, Mike Schmidt and Tony Perez . . . Hooters founders Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman surprised fans at the Gypsy Saloon (128 Ford) in Conshohocken for the band's drummer David Uosikkinen's launch party for his project "In the Pocket: Essential Songs of Philadelphia," to benefit the Settlement Music School. The guys played a few tunes with Uosikkinen, including "All My Mondays" from the album, accompanied by Richard Bush from The A's and Beru Revue's Greg Davis and Mark Julian Teague.
