Sideshow: Demi Lovato, just 18, enters rehab

It's all over for Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, parents of musical prodigy Miley. Seems Tish's adultery is to blame. He's filed for divorce. (See "The trouble with Miley.")

Famed Disney ingenue Demi Lovato, who over the weekend dropped out of the Jonas Brothers tour, checked herself into an undisclosed facility Monday night for treatment of what a rep calls "emotional and physical issues."

Adds the rep, "Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help."

What those actions are is not known, but Demi, who is all of 18, has had her share of troubles, not least of which is a broken heart. (In May, she suffered a highly publicized breakup with Joe Jonas.)

An anon source tells People that Demi "was bullied in school. She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting."

Demi's father, Patrick Lovato, says fame has taken its toll. "There are a lot of pressures," he tells RadarOnline. "That is one of the things I worried about when she signed with Disney."

The Jonas Brothers, who are due to play Chile and Brazil this week, wish Demi "best of luck."

The trouble with Miley

Poor Miley Cyrus! The 17-year-old, who is working so hard to change her image from nice teen to edgy artist, has been saddled with more scandal. Scandal of the most scurrilous sort - heavy-metal adultery.

Us Weekly says Miley's parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, are breaking up after 17 years because Tish, 43, had an affair with rocker Bret Michaels. Seems it all began when Bret, 47, became pals with the family after he and Miley recorded the sexy duet "Nothing to Lose." Billy Ray filed for divorce on Oct. 27.

There has been no comment from any of the involved parties.

The biz in showbiz

It's the stage for Homicide: Life on the Street magus Andre Braugher. He will star in Matthew Lopez's Civil War-era drama about race and identity, The Whipping Man, opening in January in New York. Braugher will play a former slave, newly freed, who welcomes home a severely wounded Jewish Confederate officer in Virginia.

Resurgent TV star Betty White is about to give her ol' costar Mary Tyler Moore a sweet lift: Moore will do a guest spot on White's hit comedy, Hot in Cleveland. The January episode will be the first time the pair have been on the box together since The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Tidbits 'n' pieces

Mister Ego (real name Kanye West) will grace the streets of New York as one of the performers at the 84th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He'll be joined by Jessica Simpson, India.Arie, Gladys Knight and Arlo Guthrie. . . . Randy Quaid and wife Evi were scheduled to be arraigned in Santa Barbara Superior Court for illegally squatting in their former home. Alas, the couple have fled to Canada and failed to appear. Their lawyer says Randy, who is seeking asylum in Canada, must remain there for a Nov. 8 court date.

Cher: Is Chaz a she or a he?

National treasure Cher tells Vanity Fair she's ambivalent about her transgendered son Chaz Bono's decision to transform from woman to man.

"If I woke up tomorrow in a guy's body," Cher says, "I would just kick and scream and cry and [bleep] rob a bank, because I cannot see myself as anything but who I am - a girl."

(Rob a bank? What's that about?)

Adds Cher, "My pronouns are [bleep]. I still don't remember to call her 'him.' "
