Sixers coach Collins not expected to miss any more games

Sixers coach Doug Collins, who missed the second half of Wednesday night's game due to symptoms of vertigo, is not expected to miss any more game time.

Collins is expected to be on the bench for the 76ers' game on Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to a source close to the coach.

Collins missed a preseason game in Cincinnati due to dizziness and headaches, which were later confirmed as symptoms of vertigo stemming from a fall in May in which Collins broke three ribs and hit his head.

Story continues below.

Collins' relapse on Wednesday night was due to his stopping taking his medication on game days because the medication made him tired. Since the Sixers were on the second night of a back-to-back, Collins had missed two days of medication, and the vertigo symptoms returned.

The dosage is expected to be adjusted, allowing Collins to stay on the medication even on game days and immediately return to coaching.

The Sixers are 1-4 and play the Cavaliers on Friday and the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden.
